The Flames of April
03:30
|
|||
April is the brightest month
Lighting memory and desire
April glares in all her glory
Shining on the other side
Like a whisper in your ear
She draws you to her radiance outside
Can't you hear?
April reaches for your soul,
She fuels your fire with her breeze
Waking long-lost memories
From an unending winter sleep
She reignites abandoned dreams you left for dead out in the cold
So don't you think it's about time
To take care of the flame in your heart
Maybe you forgot, but it's been there since you were young
Do you remember it burning?
Can't you feel the warm returning?
Keep the hope alive
With your newfound flame inside
And don’t let it ever fade
Not even when the rain pours down
Please make it sure it won't die out
Winter’s gone and you survived.
Embrace April, step outside,
Spread your fire in the world.
Now it's about time
To take care of the flame in your heart
Maybe you forgot, but it's been there since you were young
Do you remember it burning?
Can't you feel the warm returning?
Keep your hope alive
Your everlasting flame inside
Spread your fire in the world

The Battlefields Within
03:00
|

I'm committed to a reflection
On anxiety and depression
Based on several reports
From a daily combat zone
So many different stories to be told
A unifying thread
Made of all the strength
Endurance and resilience
In anyone fighting
Every day in the raging war inside
It takes some guts
To stand the battlefield
When you can never leave,
Nor go AWOL or retreat. No peace at all.
Wherever you may go
Whatever you may do
The enemies are there
Inside of you
Their operation's set, a constant wave of charges that will drive you to the edge
And in time – their aim is more than clear –
They expect you to surrender, counting on your desperation and your fear
And yet you're still there, you made it this far.
I know it may sound cold comfort to you, but day after day you keep pulling through
You refuse to go down, and maybe you'll never be fine, but you're still clinging on to your life
So, bear this in mind, no matter how this war will end, you should be goddamn proud of yourself
Now look at your chest, you'll see something carved on your heart it's your grit in the shape of a star
Yeah, it's made of scars, but it's what defines who you are, an award to your valor that no one can deny

"You remember we invited you on Thursday?
Yeah well, don't come, stay home."
"Paul, best wishes for your wedding!
Who's there? Father Campus? Come drink with us!"
"Volleyball is a sport for assholes
Tam, tam, tam, tom."
"No one gives a shit about geography
And someone please explain why all the rivers flow into the Ionian Sea"
It's been ten years since you are gone
And we've been missing you so much from day one
We keep rewatching your best of through and through
Football will never be the same without you
"First of all, the person that phoned earlier
He made some serious allegations against me,
But we keep track of all the calls we get,
So we've had him arrested, he's already in jail."
"Mom please help me it's so hard,
It's already been eleven hours."
"He told me in a funny way that I'm a shitty Leaguer
Well, I swear I'm not a Leaguer, especially not a shitty one"

They're burning history books in the city
Just like they did in the past
they thought that everything would be easier
if they reset their brains to the core
Like donkeys on a cart with a carrot on a stick
forgetting every second of everything you lived
you're running out of topics so here's a tv screen
do you really come from the monkeys?
'cuz I was there when you partied with the cops
and I was there when you reconsidered fascism
another wasted chance to prove your opposable thumb whoo oh oh
I was there when you couldn't find Switzerland on the map
and you were messing up religions and nations
I think I've mentioned it some times before
I wish I didn't have to share my air with you anymore
Laying there in a puddle of your urine
You're scared by everything you see
Your tweets are worried and the government don't care
You want everyone to be aware
Like donkeys on a cart with a carrot on a stick
forgetting every second of everything you lived
you're running out of topics so here's a tv screen
do you really come from the monkeys?
'cuz I was there when you partied with the cops
and I was there when you reconsidered fascism
another wasted chance to prove your opposable thumb whoo oh oh
I was there when you couldn't find Switzerland on the map
and you were messing up religions and nations
I think I've mentioned it some times before
I wish I didn't have to share my air with you anymore

The Cosplayers
03:23

No better way to end the day
Than showing off in our cosplay
A carefully crafted disguise
To cover up our sad demise
"Punk is not dead"
We keep repeating to ourselves
Oh, I wholeheartedly agree
It just turned into oil for the machine
Here's a reminder: we were supposed to be the untamed and free
The rebel heroes
Well, it seems to me
We're left with the costumes and no identity
So we pretend that it's ok
Not to look at how things have changed
It's not the 90s anymore
I'm sorry but that world is gone
I understand
It's easier not to doubt ourselves
And play a righteous Justice League
But like a sitcom version on TV
Second reminder: I always thought our only commitment should be to truth
Is it still like that?
I am not so sure
I need to see how deep this rabbit hole goes
I hate to act like I'm alright
And to pretend everything's fine
I played along but it's been on my mind each and every day
I look around and I don't know
Where is my home anymore
So maybe it's time for me to pack and wave goodbye and walk away
It's time to walk away
